Startup Weekend

  • usually in November

This action-packed event follows the Startup Weekend model made famous by Google. Friday and Saturday, entrepreneurial individuals meet, form teams and develop ideas into a business model all the while supported by mentors and business development workshop facilitators. By Sunday, teams are ready to pitch in front of a panel of judges.

Winter term

Entrepreneurship Week (#EWeekNiagara)

  • end of March/beginning of April

Entrepreneurship Week is a week-long burst of youth entrepreneurship activity across the region, led by Niagara College’s entrepreneurship hub, ncTakeOff and Brock University’s BioLinc. In the past, this week has hosted business development workshops, pitch competitions, networking events, Makerspace open houses, a Hackathon, a Startup Weekend, and more!

Pitch Perfect

  • applications usually due February/March

  • competition takes place during Entrepreneurship Week

ncTakeOff and Meridian Credit Union present Pitch Perfect: a pitch competition for early-stage student-led companies. Students, this is your opportunity to refine your business pitch, connect with potential investors, and pitch to win the grand prize package valued at $5000 (including $3000 in cash and $2000 in various business development services).
